In spite of the delays, it is welcome to hear progress and some firm dates on the consultation process around the Phoenix Park traffic management strategy. Key for this process will be meaningful public engagement and that the Minister listens to the opinions of the stakeholder organisations and the public.
The Minister for the Office of Public Works has said that the CEOs the of National Transport Authority, Dublin City Council, Fingal County Council and the Office of Public Works will make up the Steering Group that has been asked to report back to the Minister this Autumn with a range of options to address transport and mobility challenges in the Park.
The report will contain options to bring forward to public consultation.
RTÉ has reported that the Minister “has asked for a report within three months and a preferred option to be ready for implementation by March 2021.”
